Entertainment…How did Americans spend their free time? By the dawn of the 1920’s everything was in place for recreation and enjoyment; Army Navy Club (1911),Elks Club, Manila Hotel (1912), Movie Theaters, Modern Shops on the Escolta, Night Clubs (Santa Ana Cabaret),Polo Club and Baguio Hill Station supported by a modern railway, usable roads in Manila and surrounding areas plus interisland steamships.
Manila, Cebu, Iloilo and Zamboanga were enjoyable places to live. Within the ranks of the US Military Philippine assignments were the most sought after postings due to the excellent quality of life.
