Lou Gleek was an American diplomat and prolific writer on Philippine-American Topics. Daily life often centered around “clubs”, of which there were many. Gleek describes the origins and developments of the principal Manila social and recreational clubs. Increasingly, these “Bastions for Americans” were opened to Filipino membership Masons / Army-Navy / University / Manila Golf / Elks / Columbian / Polo / Yacht / Wack-Wack Golf).
