Clothes for your Oriental Adventure

By Gladys M. Gowlland (1937)

For travelers making their first voyage to close by Asian shores or on their way back to the USA on “Home Leave” Gladys Gowlland, a travel veteran, offered experienced advice and useful tips. For the ladies? Don’t forget your “evening dresses”; for the men? “A Palm Beach Suit or two”. Oh! And don’t forget to pack a “Masquerade Costume” for the traditional ship board party. In the American Era “Home Leave” could last up to six months, with the voyage to the USA and back consuming three weeks each way. BB
